Class Descriptions

NRA Basic Pistol Course or Beginner Pistol (A non-NRA class) – Women Only  $149
These teach the basic knowledge and skills for owning and operating a pistol safely. These courses are 8-hours long and include classroom and range time,  learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. Students learn rules for safe gun handling; pistol parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from two handed standing positions; cleaning the pistol;  ALL class and range materials are provided.   Range fees are included in price.  We provide a large variety of pistols for students to try to see what works best for them.

Tween-Teen Shooting FUNdamentals   (A Non-NRA class)    For kids Ages 11-16  – $75
This course will teach kids how to safely handle and shoot a pistol. This course is 4-hours long and will include classroom and range time.  Price includes all class and range materials and range fees.

Fundamentals of Home Defense Handguns – Co-Ed Registration – $125
This is a four to six-hour course, designed to increase the student’s understanding of defensive firearms and their use in a defense situation.  There will be focus on handguns and their value in the role of defense, ammunition selection, home defense tactics, interacting with law enforcement, developing defensive shooting skills, defensive accuracy, the balance of speed and precision and overcoming myths and anxiety in defensive shooting.

You will be run through drills to help develop your skills efficiently.

This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and new or experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling and shooting a group) to maximize what can be learned from this course.  Students are to bring their firearm, holster, 3 magazines, 250 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection and lunch.  Students can rent guns and purchase ammo and equipment for an additional $30.


Intro to  Concealed Carry  (A Non-NRA class) – Co-Ed registration – $125
This is a six to eight-hour course. Students will learn the best guns for concealed carry, how to carry safely and securely and shooting efficiently in a critical incident.  You will learn defensive shooting skills, drawing from concealment, achieving defensive accuracy the balance of speed and precision and overcoming myths and anxiety in defensive shooting.

You will be run through drills to help develop your skills efficiently.

This course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and newer or experienced shooters (shooters should be able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling) to maximize what can be learned from this course.   Students are to bring their firearm, holster, 3 magazines, 250 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection and lunch.  Range fees are included in price.  Students can rent guns and purchase ammo and equipment for an additional $40.


NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home Course – Co-Ed Registration – $125
PPITH teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense. This is an eight-hour course. Students should expect to shoot approximately 250 rounds of ammunition. Students will learn defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, how to choose a handgun for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection In The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, and course completion certificate.

NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by applicable federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.    Students are to bring their firearm, 2 magazines,  holster, 250 rounds of ammo and lunch.  Range fees are included in price.


Refuse to Be a Victim – price as quoted for organization/group
The Refuse To Be A Victim®  is the NRA’s award-winning personal safety and crime prevention program.  These sought-after seminars teach participants how to improve their personal safety strategies, and what techniques and tactics can be used to help avoid becoming easy victims of crime and criminals. In general, seminars heighten public awareness of what can and should be done to stay safe. The topics that are covered in a typical seminar include mental preparedness, home security, physical security, automobile security, and many others. Educational AND entertaining!
